WELCOME TO THE UCSF MEDICAL CENTER MATERIEL SERVICES' WEBSITE.

The goal of this site is to provide essential business information to our internal and external customers. Information available includes UCSF Medical Center’s approved Catalog Database, Product & Equipment Recalls, Product Standardization, Utilization, Selection process updates, and Policies and Procedures. Additionally, Material Services has provided access to Forms, Reports, and Equipment, which includes a virtual tour of what patient care equipment is available via Supply Distribution. In addition to these, the website provides links to other sites.

The Materiel Services department is comprised of Purchasing, Materials Management Information Systems (MMIS), Sterile Processing (SPD), Supply Distribution, Receiving, Transportation, Linen, and OR Material Support. These units, each with there distinct scopes of service operate as individual business units under the direction of the Director of Materiel Services. In addition to and in concert with these units, Materiel Services is responsible for the overall operation and performance of the Medical Center’s supply chain. Activities include, management of the performance of the Medical Center’s distributor, non-labor expense reduction activities, and revenue management support for products and services utilized in the delivery of patient care.

Materiel Services Division of the Facilities and Support Group of UCSF Medical Center is comprised of Purchasing, Receiving, Moffitt/Long Department, Sterile Processing, Transportation, Linen Services, Moffitt/Long OR, Mt. Zion, Clinics, Physician practices, and Materials Management Information Systems units.
